Abstract

Real time continuous low frequency filters are difficult to be integrated using Active-RC structure due to the large constant time and hence large resistors and/or capacitors. A new approach based on combining R2R ladder and difference term approach to realize low pass filter is proposed. In this approach a low power performance is achieved as number of R2R ladder networks are relaxed. The proposed filter was designed and simulated in 0.18μ CMOS technology by Tanner tools. A comparison between the proposed design and some related work in the literature is made. The filter with a pole of 150Hz which is suitable for ECG system consumes only 4.52μW from ±0.65 V and achieving total harmonic distortion of -73dB.
