Abstract
A simple spectrophotometric method is introduced for the determination of Carbimazole in drug formulation. The method requires the use of 16 mg ml-1 potassium dichromate, 0.5 M sulfuric acid and heating at 90° C for 25 min. The method is easily applied to the determination of Carbimazole in tablet formulations. The accuracy of the method was tested by a statistical comparison with the British Pharmacopeia official method.
