Abstract

No coking: A Pt/WO3/Al-ZrOx nanocomposite enables the efficient conversion of various hydrocarbons at a temperature as low as 150°C (see figure, X=conversion) without deep cracking or coking problems. This novel catalyst might potentially be used for the production of high-octane fuel with a low content of aromatics by converting n-alkanes into their multibranched isomers with excellent selectivity.
