Abstract

This paper provides error estimates for the approximation of solutions, eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of a class of singular two-point boundary value problems. A 'strongly stable' finite-difference scheme is used. Order h2 convergence of the method is proved in both the energy norm and the maximum norm.
