Abstract

The automatic generation control (AGC) problem of multi-area power systems subject to actuator-failures is translated into an equivalent problem of decentralized reliable feedback control under a class of control failures for a class of linear interconnected continuous-time systems having internal subsystem time-delays and additional timedelay couplings. The failure model takes into consideration possible outages or partial failures in every single actuator of each decentralized controller. A feasible linear matrix inequalities procedure is established for the effective construction of the control set under state feedback. The decentralized reliable feedback gains are determined by convex optimization over new parametrized LMIs at the subsystem level. The developed results are tested on a representative three-area power model.
