Abstract
A classification of symmetries of a nonlinear one-two wave equation is given with their respective commutator tables. Two dimensional Lie algebras of point symmetry generators are used to construct exact solutions for some classes invariant under the subalgebra. Comparisons and other significant results regarding other equations, like the Laplace's equation, are made.
