A comparison between mixing and grouting approaches for treating calcareous expansive clay

Abstract

Results indicated that lime slurry pressure injection is not quite effective in reducing the swell potential of the treated clay compared to potassium nitrate injection. Kiln dust caused significant improvement in strength but no major influence on swelling potential.
