Abstract

A CMOS IF bandpass filter for an integrated Bluetooth receiver is presented. The filter center frequency and bandwidth are 3MHz and 1MHz, respectively. The filter is based on unity gain fully differential voltage buffers and utilizes linearized MOS transistors for tuning. This technique provides simplified, low power, small area design solution for the filter implementation. The proposed 18th-order filter occupying an area of 1.44mm2 was submitted for fabrication using 0.5-um standard CMOS process. Simulation results obtained from the layout circuit file show that the proposed filter satisfies the selectivity and dynamic range requirements of Bluetooth using a total supply current of 900uA.
