Abstract

In the title binuclear centrosymmetric complex, [Cu2I 2(C8H6N4)(C18H 15P)2]·2C3H7NO, the bis-bidentate 2,2′-bipyrimidine ligand bridges two copper(I) ions, each additionally bound to an iodide anion and a triphenylphosphane ligand in a distorted tetrahedral N2IP geometry. The complex molecules pack in columns parallel to [100] generating cavities occupied by dimethylformamide solvent molecules. Weak C - H⋯I hydrogen-bonding interactions help to stabilize the crystal packing.
