Uplink MIMO Scheduling Design and Evaluation for V-Blast Users

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

This project focuses on bandwidth efficient advances for multiple-input multipleoutput (MIMO) systems. We study in this project uplink scheduling for V-BLAST users. Each user spatially multiplexes his data over multiple transmit antennas. This spatial multiplexing (SM) scheme provides high data rates while multi-user diversity obtained from scheduling improves the performance of the uplink system. The scheduler selects one user at a time based on a criterion that minimizes aggregate BER. This combination will improve the throughput of the uplink system without any bandwidth expansions. For the scarce spectrum of mobile and cellular communications, MIMO and scheduling schemes are excellent cost-effective candidates.
