Project Details
Description
In this study, we propose to synthesize a series of new platinum complexes with some thione ligands and to characterize them using CHNS elemental analysis, mid- and far-IR, 1H and 13C solution NMR as well as 13C, 15N and 195Pt solid-state NMR spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray crystallography. Also these complexes will be studied against cancer cell lines such as A549, HCT15 and MCF7. The outcome of this study will certainly enhance our understanding about Ptsulfur interactions in the living systems and will be of help in developing a new generation of anticancer drugs which could be less toxic than the currently available drugs in the market.
