Stability in some logarithmic plate equations with linear and nonlinear frictional damping

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

In this project we study the stabilization of the plate system with logarithmic nonlinearity by linear and nonlinear frictional damping acting in the domain. To the best of our knowledge, there is no result for the long-time behavior of solutions for this type of problems. Our aim is to establish general decay rate results for a wide class of damping mechanisms. We try to obtain our results without imposing any restrictive growth assumption near the origin on the frictional damping term. The results of this work, if obtained, will open the door for more research in this direction.
