Role of Thermophilic Bacteria in Wastewater Treatment

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

Waste water treatment has huge negative impact on environment, agriculture, groundwater health, and damaging natural resources. Therefore, the use of thermophilic bacteria is biologically very important approach for treatment of wastewater which increases the efficiency and reducing the process time. The proposed project aimed to investigate the removal of heavy waste from waste water treatment plant using a consortium of thermophilic bacteria using a lab scale bioreactor system. Determine the Optimum condition for the most efficient process will be conducted as well. Using thermophilic bacteria isolated from hot springs in Saudi Arabia will provide a unique important wastewater treatment study. Moreover, this work will help to build on previous researches of similar heat-loving bacteria that was isolated form hot spring in Saudi Arabia. This study will benefit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by sustaining the natural resources in, solving a major problem of wastewater treatment and economically efficient high-temperature controlled biological wastewater treatment.
