Remote Sensing Mission Analysis and Design Using Nano-Satellite: KFUPMSat, a University Satellite Project.

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is the largest Arab state in Western Asia by land area therefore the utilization of space technologies is crucial for sustainable development and security. This research proposes a remote-sensing using Nano-satellite for the kingdom development and security needs. The proposed nan-satellite will be based on the university-standard Cubesat technologies in which low cost COTS (Commercial of-the-self) components are used. In addition to the technical design, implementation plan, budget and risk are also highlighted in this study for possible implementation by the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).
