Description
We are concerned with the reconstruction of the heat sink coefficient of a two dimensional heat equation from the observation of the solution given at one point. This new method is based on spectral methods, and provides a fast algorithm. Direct reconstruction and identification algorithms have important applications in reverse engineering and control theory, and also provide an alternative to optimal control methods and minimization procedures.
