On the stabilization of viscoelastic plates with delay

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

In this project, we study the stabilization of nonlinear plates systems by viscoelastic damping of finite or infinite memory-type in the presence of constant or distributed time delay. In the absence of delay, these systems have been widely studied in the literature under restrictive assumptions on the relaxation functions associated with the viscoelastic damping. Our aim is to investigate the effect of time delay on the stability of the systems and establish explicit and general decay rate results by strongly weakening the usual assumptions on the relaxation functions. The results of this work will allow a wider class of relaxation functions, extend, and improve several earlier results existing in the literature.
