Project Details
Description
An instrument will be developed based on GAs in Scattering Media Absorption Spectroscopy (GASMAS) using a tunable diode laser emitting in near infrared spectral region of oxygen absorption line. The instrument will be employed to investigate the absorption of oxygen gas in porous alumina samples of different pore sizes. A correlation will be deduced between the broadening of the absorbed oxygen line and the pore sizes of the alumina samples. Also, a theoretical model will be worked out in an attempt to better understand the broadening mechanism of oxygen line and to try to deduce pore size directly.
