Description
Despite the widespread use of interfirm practices in industrial and business practices in Saudi Arabia, no empirical evidence has been available on the economic rationale, organizational and management control aspects of these practices. By using an exploratory case study and drawing on theoretical perspectives from evolutionary economics, resource-based view (RBV) of organizations and relational contracting theory, this research project attempts to gain insights into outsourcing or non-ownership practices in three Saudi companies with main emphasis on the outsourcing governance mechanisms, performance and sustainability issues. The findings of the study are expected to increase our understanding of interfirm practices in the kingdom including outsourcing.
