Project Details
Description
With vision 2030, Saudi Arabia has ambitious strategies to implement the use of electrical vehicles (EVs). However, the batteries of EVs could suffer from our harsh weather conditions, especially during the parking when the cooling system is not operating. This project aims to investigate the effect of high environment temperature on the batteries lifespan and capacity. The investigations are carried out for open-circuit batteries to imitate the conditions of EV during parking. The findings of these investigations are essential to design a proper thermal management system (TMS). This system should be passive to mitigate the batteries temperature during parking when the main thermal management system of the car is inactive.
