Description
MXenes, a newly emerged family of 2D materials in bare form and combined state with metal hydrides have proven their flair in ascertaining the hydrides' theoretical and experi...imental hydrogen storage capabilities far beyond the current state-of-the-art materials-based hydrogen storage technologies. The primary bottleneck in the applicability of MXenes is the stringent, hazardous, and lengthy synthetic protocols of MXenes. The synthesis of MXenes from their parent MAX phases needs ~100 hours to produce a few grams of material involving hydrogen fluoride and other acids that further impart their instability. The proposed research has been designed to target and delimit these synthetic limitations of MXenes to open further gateways for their utilization as an efficient hydrogen storage material.
