Accretion Disks of Astrophysical Black Holes

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

We can locate black holes only indirectly and essentially through their accretion disks. The accretion disks can even tell us about the intrinsic properties of their host black holes and their ambient environments. The main goal of this project is to provide a new, extended model for black hole accretion disks and describe how to read out the physical parameters of host black hole. We approach the problem via analyzing the dynamics of the accretion disk, governed by the Einstein-Maxwell equations. To be able to work with the exquisite complexity of the dynamical equations, we will use a combination of advanced symbolic and numerical computations.
