Dr. Syed Ul Hasnain Bakhtiar is a researcher at the IRC for Refining and Advanced Chemicals (CRAC) at King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), working in Professor Konstantinos Triantafyllidis’ group. His research focuses on the synthesis of OX-ZEO bi-functional catalysts for CO2 hydrogenation to light olefins via the methanol route.


His overall research focuses on the fabrication of multipurpose catalysts for fine chemical reactions like CO2 hydrogenation, CO2 to methanol conversion (CTM), Methanol to olefin (MTO) conversion, Photocatalytic CO2 reduction and dye degradation, and fabrication of Functional Ceramics for energy applications, with a side project of DFT-based first principal approaches.
