Research interests

# Marine Environmental Science and Toxicology: Assessing emerging contaminants (ECs) by SPE-associated extraction and HPLC or LC-MS analysis (ECs, such as estrogens, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, microplastics, and PFAS from water, wastewater, sediment, and biota), and their associated adverse effects to marine, estuarine, or freshwater biota. Transgenerational toxicology of aquatic organisms, multi-omics-based studies (i.e., metabolomics and transcriptomics) and methylomes by RT-qPCR to elucidate molecular mechanisms. Heavy metal Toxicity, mechanistics.

# Environmental Remediation: Characterisation and modification of specific, responsible microorganisms; breakdown of specific organic pollutants (e.g., ECs, microplastics, azo dyes, heavy metals, etc.); Cellulose composites: preparation, characterisation, and optimisation for heavy metal removal.
