Professional Information
With a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from UNSW Sydney and over a decade of experience in academia and research, I am passionate about advancing the field of renewable energy, battery energy storage systems, electrification solutions, and hydrogen systems. Currently, I serve as an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at KFUPM and a Research Affiliate at the Interdisciplinary Center for Sustainable Energy Systems. My expertise lies in optimizing and controlling large-scale grid-connected renewable power plants, hybrid energy systems, hydrogen systems, electrification solutions, and smart grids, with a strong focus on AI and machine learning applications. I have led numerous research grants, established valuable collaborations, and initiated joint ventures with industry partners. I have also forged international collaborations with leading institutions and companies, driving innovation and expanding the global impact of my work. Throughout my career, I have received numerous awards and recognitions for my contributions to both research and teaching. I have authored numerous papers, hold multiple patents, and actively contribute as an Associate Editor and reviewer for leading journals and conferences. My work is driven by a commitment to innovation and sustainability in the energy sector.
