Personal profile
Dr. Mohamed Abdrabou Hussein works at the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Advanced Materials (IRC-AM) and is an affiliate of the Mechanical Engineering Department at KFUPM. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (Materials & Manufacturing) from KFUPM in 2015. Hussein has an experience in interdisciplinary research focusing on developing and characterizing advanced materials such as nanostructured materials, High entropy alloys, lightweight alloys, metallic biomaterials, hydrogen storage materials, carbon materials, and Applied machine learning in materials science and engineering.. A proven track record of securing and managing funded research as PI (7 projects) and CO-I (7 projects), resulting in +63 journal papers, 21 US patents (9 issued and 12 applications), Book chapters, and several presentations at international conferences. Experienced in leading research team, mentoring students, Postdocs, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Recognized for outstanding research and innovation and honored with the KFUPM Excellence in Research Award (2023) , Patent Award in (2025,2024,2023,2018 ),and recognition among Stanford University’s Top 2% Scientists worldwide (2024). In addition to teaching & academic experience since 2005 at Tanta University, KFS University, and KFUPM.
