Personal profile

Personal profile

Md Tauhidul Islam is a Postdoctoral Fellow at KFUPM working on sustainable electrochemical energy storage and functional materials. His research bridges functional textiles, wearable electronics, dye-sensitized solar cells, fiber-reinforced polymer composites, micro/nanomaterials, bi-functional electrocatalyst development for water splitting, supercapacitors, aqueous electrolytes, and device-oriented electrochemical energy systems. During his PhD, he developed novel approaches to understand ion transport, electric double-layer structure, Debye length, and desolvation of aqueous and water-in-salt electrolytes under carbon nanopore confinement. His expertise includes nanomaterials synthesis, coating and deposition, electrolyte formulation, EIS, Raman, XRD, SEM/HRTEM, XPS, FTIR, UV-Vis, NMR, electrochemical analysis, corrosion analysis, prototype pouch-cell development, and long-term stability testing. His work has resulted in peer-reviewed publications and a European patent application on a flow energy storage device.

Research interests

He aims to develop safer, more durable, and scalable electrochemical energy technologies by linking materials design and interfacial electrochemistry.
