Rokonuzzaman is a Faculty (Postdoctoral Research Fellow) at the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Sustainable Energy Systems (IRC-SES), King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia. He completed his PhD in Engineering from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (@UNITEN, The National Energy University), Malaysia, in 2022, where his research focused on artificial neural network-based solar PV integration within smart home energy management systems. He was a distinguished Building Opportunities, Living Dreams (BOLD) scholar and honored with the 'BOLD strategic hire fellowships'. He graduated with his MSc in Electrical, Electronic, and Communication Engineering (EECE) and a BSc (Hons.) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE).

Prior to joining KFUPM, Dr. Rokon served as a Research Fellow (Lecturer Grade B) in the Department of Electrical & Robotics Engineering, School of Engineering, Monash University Malaysia, and as a Researcher at the Institute of Sustainable Energy (ISE) at Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN). He previously served as an Assistant Professor & Head of the Department at ISTT/National University of Bangladesh, as a Lecturer at the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) and as a sessional academic at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Dr. Rokon is a National Science Foundation (NSF), USA grant recipient and the Principal Investigator (PI) of two NSF-funded projects. He also leads multiple international collaborative research initiatives, including grants from KFUPM, KSA; Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), Malaysia; Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia; and MIST, Bangladesh.

His multidisciplinary background spans electrical, electronic, and communication engineering with a strong emphasis on embedded technologies, artificial intelligence, IoT, smart grids, energy management systems, solar photovoltaic applications, and renewable energy systems. Dr. Rokon has received numerous accolades, including eight international medals for innovation, three patent filings, and over 50 publications in WoS/Scopus indexed international journals. He actively supervises postgraduate and undergraduate research students. He contributes to academic service as a reviewer for journals published by IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, MDPI, and Taylor & Francis. He also served as a guest editor for Sustainability and associate editor for Frontiers in Sustainability. He is a Senior Member of IEEE & PES (USA), a Professional Technologist (P.Tech) with the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT), a member of IET (UK) and IAENG (Hong Kong).
