Personal profile

Research interests

Dr. Khandoker Asiqur Rahaman is an interdisciplinary researcher dedicated to bridging the gap between advanced engineering and human health. His work sits at the intersection of biomedical science and biomaterials, with a deep focus on tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

His journey into advanced biomedical science took shape in South Korea, where he completed rigorous research training at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) and the University of Science and Technology (UST). This experience grounded his research in translational medicine, teaching him how to turn laboratory discoveries into practical therapies for patients.

Today, Dr. Khandoker Asiqur Rahaman is pushing the boundaries of biomaterials at the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Biosystems and Machines (IRC-BSM) within King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia. His current projects look closely at how nanoscale materials, conductive hydrogels, and electrical stimulation can guide cell behavior. By exploring how these smart platforms interact with bioactive peptides, he is creating new ways to accelerate wound healing, protect damaged cells, and stimulate blood vessel growth.
