Dr. Masrur is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at KFUPM. He is also affiliated with the Center for Smart Mobility and Logistics as a Research Scholar. He leads the SERA Lab , advancing data-driven, machine learning, and optimization-based approaches to enhance the resilience, reliability, and sustainability of interconnected energy and infrastructure systems under cyber, climate, and operational uncertainties.
Dr. Masrur is seeking highly motivated PhD students with strong interests in interdisciplinary research on smart energy systems. Relevant areas include, but are not limited to, artificial intelligence and machine learning applications, micro- and macro-scale energy system modeling, resilience, data analytics, optimization, and system dynamics. Visiting scholars (supported by Ibn Sina Global Scholarship) and research students (supported by student exchange or summer research program) with aligned interests are also encouraged to apply.
