Personal profile

Professional Information

Geospatial researcher with over five years of academic and applied research experience in remote sensing, GIS, and cloud-based geospatial analytics, particularly in environmental monitoring (air, water, noise), climate change impacts, and vulnerability assessment. Current research is focused on climate change impacts, vulnerability mapping, and adaptation strategies in arid and extreme climate regions of Saudi Arabia. Applied geospatial tools across diverse sectors including urban planning, agriculture, water resources, and forestry. Previously, contributed to national and state-level climate vulnerability and risk assessments under the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the National Mission on Sustaining the Himalayan Ecosystem (NMSHE), as well as projects supported by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India. The role involved developing spatial frameworks, geospatial tools, and contributing to policy documents aimed at evidence-based environmental planning, climate resilience, and sustainable resource management with a strong focus on translating research into actionable outcomes at the ground level. Represented KFUPM as a speaker at the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) COP16, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from December 2–13, 2024, where  delivered a talk on “The Role of Civil Society, Women, and Youth in Land Stewardship and Climate Action.”
